WHAT'S NEW AT ANAHEIM GARDEN WALK

There’s a new vision for AnaheimGardenWalk in 2020, with plans for more shops, restaurants and attractions to open throughout the year.. The easily accessible entertainment center, located across the street from Disneyland Resort, is the midst of an exciting refresh that will introduce distinct themes within the center.

“We want to inject a lot of culture into the mixture,” says John Hsu, CEO of STC Management, which owns the entertainment destination.

The revamp includes Asian and European mini villages on the upper sky level, where visitors can sample authentic cuisine and browse new-age concept shops. On the main level, four gardens will feature settings like a tranquil Victorian-style gazebo and the iconic Kate and Ella statue. The lowest level will be adorned with sea-themed murals and decor. Additionally, to coincide with the opening of the JW Marriott Hotel this spring, many more additions are expected.

"We're trying to create an ambience on each level," says Hsu. "We’re adding colors and props to really differentiate."

From Instagram-worthy backdrops to exotic eats, the outdoor entertainment center's new features are making it a must-visit destination during any trip to Anaheim. Discover some of the latest happenings at the center, slated to be completed this year.

DINE AND DRINK
One of the major focus areas for the new GardenWalk is the addition of culinary offerings. New restaurants and quick-stop shops will allow visitors to sample cuisine without committing to a full sit-down meal.

Asian delicacies will be abundant, with options like Taiwanese desserts at Meet Fresh or milk tea at OneZo Boba. Shinobi Arcade Bar & Lounge will offer a fresh take on traditional Japanese-style tea, serving it alongside one-of-a-kind cocktails in a vintage arcade setting.

A highlight of the center anticipated to open this summer is an outdoor beer garden with eight kiosks pouring a variety of primarily OC brews. The center is also introducing a brand-new early morning option with Huckleberry’s Breakfast and Lunch, which will offer Southern-style comfort foods in its first SoCal location.

ENTERTAINMENT AND NIGHTLIFE
GardenWalk has never been short on things to see and do, with its flagship House of Blues, Rumba Room Live, AMC GardenWalk 6, Blush Nightclub and Mission Escape Games. The escape room will be tripling its footprint in the coming year, leading the charge for a brand-new slate of entertainment options.

Anaheim is getting its first cat cafe with 9 Lives 4 Mew, providing fun for all ages. Those more interested in scares can explore the Horror of the Orient maze, a seasonal haunt that will be relocating to the upper sky level with a permanent, year-round location.
The new GardenWalk will also introduce its first on-site lodging concept that is heavily influenced by Tokyo’s capsule hotels. Hsu explains the living pods are popular among teenagers and the “young at heart” in Japan and will offer an exciting new way for visitors to experience the center.

“The three things we want to inject in this [destination] are health, love and wisdom,” says Hsu. “We try to give the best of the best from around the world to make this a destination for people who come to Anaheim for something different.”
