Wonderful Indonesia in SATTE 2020: Indonesia and Malaysia Could Collaborate for Dual Destination Package

In order to increase the number of international tourists from India, Indonesia and Malaysia could work together in making a dual destination package. It was mentioned by Deputy Minister of Tourism Marketing II of the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy (MoTCE) of the Republic of Indonesia, Nia Niscaya on her speech at the inauguration ceremony of South Asia Travel & Tourism Expo (SATTE) 2020.

SATTE is one of the largest B2B tourism exhibitions in South Asia and annually held in India. This year, Indonesia participated as a Premium Partner Country and more than 1000 exhibitors from 50 countries participated in SATTE 2020 held on 8-10 January 2020 at the India Expo Center, Greater Noida, New Delhi, India. Indonesia Pavilion took the theme design “Phinisi” (a traditional ship from South Sulawesi) with ambiance of Bali, Labuan Bajo and Mandalika, as the leading tourism destinations of Indonesia.

In India, Bali is very well known. "The scenery in Bali is like heaven. There are many tourist activities that can be done there, from sunbathing on the white sand in the warm sun to diving for looking at coral reefs and historic ship relics,” explained Nia Niscaya proudly.

Bali Island has always been named the best island in the world, from the DestinAsian Readers Choice Award, Lonely Planet, and Traveloka. Bali also nominated as the world's best nomadic tourism destination and the Best Honeymoon Destination in the world.

Director of Marketing II Regional III of MoTCE, Sigit Witjaksono said that Bali was not only known by Indian travelers. Later, Labuan Bajo and Mandalika also began to be targeted by Indian tourists. "Bali must be well known in India. There are 60% of Indian tourists who came to Bali. Plus, Indonesia also has Mandalika which will hold MotoGP in 2021. Indonesia also has Labuan Bajo which was named the world's best snorkeling site.

In the near future, Sigit hopes Borobudur and Prambanan temples, as another super priority destination, will be the next favorite tourism destinations for Indian tourists because it’s considered suitable with their characteristics.
