Serving up a delectable slice of Pyrmont’s very best food, wine and culture with stunning harbourside views, Pyrmont Festival has announced its full program of culinary celebrations for its ninth annual event, returning from 20 September – 6 October 2019.

In 2019, the Festival partners with Orange NSW for special events showcasing outstanding cool-climate wines from the region, hosted by beloved mainstays of Pyrmont’s vibrant dining scene. Spearheading the celebrations will be the family friendly headline event at sunny Pirrama Park running28 – 29 September, featuring Orange wines, tantalizing gourmet offerings from local artisan foodsmiths, and live entertainment.

“We’re very thrilled to announce our packed full program. In this celebration of the tight-knit relationship between city and country, the irresistible buzz of inner-city dining meets the inimitable flavours of Orange, to the backdrop of our unbeatable harbour views,” said Pyrmont Festival Director, Alex Gibbs. “With the weather warming up, come join us this Spring for one of the biggest outdoor food and wine festivals on the Sydney calendar, with friends and loved ones under the sun.”

“This time of year in the winemaking cycle is always an exciting time with many of our new vintage wine releases appearing in market and on wine lists. It is a celebration of bud burst, which symbolises the beginning the growing process,” said Orange360 General Manager Caddie Marshall. “It is terrific to partner with the Pyrmont Ultimo Chamber of Commerce to showcase more than half of our region’s cool climate wine brands.”

HEADLINE EVENT
Spearheading the 17-day Festival this year is the return of the two-day highlight event in Pirrama Park overlooking Sydney Harbour from 28-29 September.

Also in the spotlight will be limited-release beers from Pioneer Brewing Co, with vibrantly hoppy Extra Pale Ales, refreshing lagers and everything in between; and Badlands Brewery, whose creative approach to brewing has seen the use of black truffles, finger-limes and chilies in past kegged creations.

Event-goers can also sample artisanal produce from the Orange region’s finest purveyors, including: The Salami Man, with his unique home-style brand of delicious cured meats; a smorgasbord of cheeses from Second Mouse Cheese Co; high-potency probiotic vinegars from fermentation masters The Orange Fermentary; and indulgent cakey goodness courtesy of The Cheesecake Co.

Rounding out the festivities will be live entertainment from Pyrmont’s most talented up-and-coming musical acts; a lush beer garden pouring a premium selection of craft beers; plus a live telecast of the AFL Grand Final on Saturday 28 September in Pirrama Park.
