Night View of My Khe Beach from Altara Suites |
I was very pleased with my accommodation choice, the luxurious Altara Suites by Ri-Yaz. I was truly pampered by all the staff and with all the comforts of my wonderful suite. I enjoyed the the roof top outdoor pool and delightful breakfasts served each morning. The hospitality I experienced during my stay at the Altara Suites was unmatched.
I was warmly welcomed by all the friendly and professional staff, even before I stepped into the hotel. I was put at ease with their welcoming smiles and good standard of spoken English. This welcome was experienced from the moment I first approached the Altara Suites and I received help with my bags into the reception lobby on the ground floor. I was then escorted up the lifts to the reception lounge on the top 33rd level where the check in was welcoming and fast. Even though I checked in early, that was no problem. I was offered a cool drink, refresher towel, and Vietnamese candies.

The Altara Suites has 151 accommodation apartments in either one or two bedroom arrangements. Travelling by myself, I found my fully-equipped one-bedroom Luxe – Peace Suite ideal. My 60 m2 suite was spacious, very new, modern and very, very clean. I liked the wrap-around balcony with its most breathtaking views of Da Nang. As the Altara Suites are very new, the furniture, floor, kitchen, bathroom and electrical appliances were all brand new renowned brands of high standard.
I was impressed by my suites large size and that its bedroom was separate from the living area and dining area. The decor was well thought out, with cosy, contemporary interior furnishings and fittings. The rooms were swathed in a warm, rich palette of colors. They were a delight to take it easy and relax in.
The lavish living area had a glass wall to maximize my city views. The flat-screen LCD TV with cable channels was a Smart TV, so I was able to enjoy some Vietnamese music and talent shows videos on YouTube. I was able to make cups of tea with the kettle and coffee with the coffee machine provided.
The designer kitchen and dining room was well fitted and would have been ideal for entertaining if I so desired. There was a stove top microwave, dish wash and full sized refrigerator. It was convenient to find the cupboards full of cooking utensils, plates, cups, silverware and glasses.
After 2 weeks of travelling around Vietnam, I was delightfully surprised to find laundry facilities in the suite. A washing machine and clothes dryer were provided in one of the closets. I was able to give my clothes a good wash with the supplied washing powder.
My sophisticated master bedroom was very restful with a good nights sleep enjoyed each night. I particularly liked the King Sized bed which was very big and comfy. Each night I lay in bed watching the second Smart TV on the wall before I slept.
There was a private ensuite bathroom with shower and separate bathtub which i enjoyed laying in and soaking. A good range of quality toiletries, bathrobes, slippers and a hairdryer were supplied. Fresh fluffy towels were offered each day.
The housekeeping was very good, with my room cleaned and bed made everyday. My Luxe – Peace suite was cooled by air conditioner and ceiling fans so made a peaceful retreat at the end of each days sightseeing. A safe deposit box was in the room. The free WiFi was great in room and was available throughout all areas of the hotel.
I enjoyed my sumptuous breakfast buffet each morning at the Altitude Restaurant high up on the on the 32 level. The choice of food was great. I enjoyed the many selections of Vietnamese, Korean, Chinese and Western hot and cold delicacies. These were skillfully prepared by the kitchen, with some dishes, such as my omelettes, just cooked when I made my request. I enjoyed my freshly made cups of tea and cappuccino coffees served with my meal.
The Altitude Restaurant celebrates fresh ingredients and the classic flavours of Vietnamese cuisine. My dining experience here each morning was added to with the wonderful views of the sea, mountains and the city of Da Nang viewed through huge floor-to-ceiling glass windows of the restaurant. Currently open for breakfast only, the restaurant will very soon open its doors for lunch and dinner services.
The leisure facilities at the Altara Suites are outstanding, and are free for all guests to use. I particularly enjoyed my times in the large infinity swimming pool on level 33, which is the roof top of the Altara Suites. The sun-splashed pool had plenty of sun lounges to laze on. The pool area would be ideal for families, as there is a shallow kid’s pool. A rooftop bar served drinks and light refreshments for the thirsty and hungry. I particularly liked being up there to relax after returning from a days sightseeing and being there at sunset for the wonderful views.
I could have engaged in a good workout at the fitness centre, equipped with state-of-the-art cardio and weight-training machinery, but I preferred the more relaxing option of using the sauna and steam room. These all provided the opportunity to gaze down on the city below and came complete with shower and changing rooms with lockers

The Altara Suites can arrange any type of event on its rooftop lounge, whether it be a cocktail party or an intimate gathering of family and friends. The skilled team of chefs can design a delightful menu. The rooftop is an ideal place to take in the spectacular Da Nang International Fireworks held each year.
Altara Suites is ideally situated just beside My Khe Beach. It is not that far away from either the airport or the town center, which I walked to on several occasions.
One afternoon I took a local bus down to the historic Hoi An with its well-preserved Ancient Town, with no vehicles allowed allowing for people to walk around. Hoi An has a mix of eras and styles from wooden Chinese shops, houses and temples to colorful French colonial buildings, ornate Vietnamese tube houses and the iconic Japanese Covered Bridge with its pagoda.
The Altara Suites is easily accessed by plane by flying into the Da Nang International Airport. Taxis, Grab or Uber are available at all the airport terminal and it’s just a 20 minute ride to the hotel. With prior arrangement, the Altara Suites concierge can organise an airport transfer in a chaffeur driven car.
