Long, lazy - often boozy - brunches have been staple of the Melbourne dining scene. With the popularity of the mid-morning meal at an all-time high, eateries in the city are changing it up to offer something new, be it a side order of bingo or fried chicken. For those looking for something different this Mother's Day, these bottomless brunches should work a treat.

Toyko Tina
Boozy Sunday brunch with a side of bingo make the bottomless brunch at Tokyo Tina's the most interactive and possibly most interesting offer around town. The restaurant, located at the cool end of Chapel Street, has launched its Bingo Academy – a $69 Sunday brunch session where diners can sip on bottomless bubbles, beer or Aperol Spritz whilst playing Bingo and enjoying the delicious Japanese street food on the menu. Belle's Hot Chicken
Scones and tea can be swapped for fried chicken and cocktails for adventurous mothers this Mothering Sunday. Morgan McGlone's now-famous crunchy Nashville-style hot chicken and waffles can be enjoyed with a specially created Bloody Mary (or other Belle's cocktail jugs) to tone down, or tone up, the spice. Angus & Bon
Housed in the old Prahran Post Office, this lofty space on Chapel Street, south of the city centre has a New York feel about it. Executive chef Declan Carrol has an impressive pedigree including Rockpool Bar & Grill, where he gets his love of the steak. The front bar and streetside areas are primed for summertime sipping sessions, while the back space tempts long, lazy dinners with its luxe banquettes and moody lighting. Le Bon Ton
This southern American saloon-style joint is perfectly positioned in hipster Collingwood. Not only does it offer the popular slow-cooked-in-pit meats with varying degrees of spice teamed with absinthe, but it has a popular beer-garden and diners can get a brisket sandwich till 5am on weekends. Fargo and Co
With brunch menu items as diverse strawberries and cream waffles; corn, manchego and chive croquettes with smoked salmon; and crisp cornflake chicken with waffles and maple syrup - Swan Street newcomer Fargo & Co will be perfectly positioned to entertain mum's in this east Melbourne buzzing food hood. Gingerboy
The eternally popular Gingerboy in central Melbourne's Crossley Street is getting in on the action with bottomless Sundays. Pan-Asian menu items include chinese cabbage and onion dumplings, nam prik pao; spiced eggplant, okra and split pea curry puffs, with saffron yoghurt; steamed prawn and ginger dumplings, peanut soy; crispy pork belly bun.
