Tourism WA and Australian Chamber Orchestra strike a chord in London

A presentation of The Reef by the Australian Chamber Orchestra (ACO) was performed for the first time in the UK at The Barbican Concert Hall, on Saturday, March 11.

The Reef is inspired by Western Australia’s World Heritage-listed Ningaloo Reef, where ACO Artistic Director Richard Tognetti worked with a crew of surfers, musicians and film-makers to create the breathtaking musical and visual production.

VIP guests were invited to the first UK performance of The Reef to promote WA’s extraordinary aquatic and coastal experiences and increase awareness within the UK target market.

Pre-promotion of the concert and Ningaloo Reef as a travel destination was run, including a Classic FM radio campaign reaching almost two million listeners, and resulting in over 6,700 entries to win tickets to the event.

The performance itself featured in The Times and reviewed in The Telegraph, receiving an impressive four out of five stars.
