As in previous years, the Festival will highlight the latest trends in Fashion and Food in tandem.
Featuring Indonesia’s top Designers
The Fashion Festival will roll from 12th to 30th April 2017, displaying Indonesia’s rich heritage in modern designs in Fashion presented in ready-to-wear collections by upcoming designers and course couture by Indonesia’s top designers. These will be shown on the catwalk of the Ballroom at Harris Hotel and Convention as well as at The Forum at Kelapa Gading Mall and in the Fashion Village Trade Show of JFFF.Among some of Indonesia’s top designers who will showcase their collections are: Andreas Odang, Ariy Arka, Barli Asmara, Carmanita, Danny Satriadi, Defrico Audy, Farhannah Baraba, Ghea Panggabean, Handy Hartono, House of Irsan, Ivan Gunawan, Kursien Karzai, Liliana Lim, Lulu Lutfi Labibi, Malik Moestaram, Mel Ahyar, Musa Widyatmodjo, Nonota Respati (Purana), Opi Bachtiar, Rusly Tjohnardi, Soko Wiyanto, Stella Rissa, Tiara Zahra Fitria, TitiesSapoetra, Tri Handoko, and Yongky Budisutisna.
Adding to the fashion fiesta, young people who are interested in the fashion industry be it in modeling, entrepreneurship, or beauty are invited to participate in the Gading Model Search, the Gading Model Search Kids, and the Next Young Promising Designers Competition. Furthermore, in appreciation of individuals and institutions whohave greatly contributed to the growth of Indonesia’s Fashion Industry, the Fashion Icon Awards will be staged asFinale of the Fashion Extravaganza series.
Noodles of the Archipelago
Whereas, presenting the wide range of culinary delights from across Indonesia and overseas, the Food Festival will take place from 7th April to 7th May 2017. Visitors can indulge in Indonesia’s finest authentic cuisines at the‘Kampoeng Tempoe Doloe’ (Old Time Village), while the Wine & Cheese Expo will take visitors through some of the most exquisite tastes in the world.Every year, the Kampoeng Tempo Doloe (KTD) manages to bring a special sensation to those who enjoy culinary adventures. This year, taking place at La Piazza, Kelapa Gading, the Kampoeng Tempo Doloe will feature a special highlight of Noodles of the Archipelago. Bringing the decorations and ambience of an old Chinatown, this year’s KTD will witness the participation of 88 culinary small and medium businesses that will present no less than 200 scrumptious menus. Aside from the range of Indonesian specialities in culinary presentations, a highlight of 8 variations of Indonesian noodles will definitely indulge your quest for the perfect taste in noodles.
Next to the KTD, the Wine & Cheese Expo will be held from 14th to 7th May 2017at the Multi-Purpose Hall and the La Prisma at Kelapa Gading Center. Wine & Cheese Expo delivers a wide range of wines from many countries producing high quality wines that include America, Argentina, Australia, Canada, Austria, Chile, France, Germany, Italy, New Zealand, Portugal, and South Africa. Wine & Cheese Expo will also feature producers and distributors of a number offamous wine and cheese products, as well as international culinary experts. Here, you can enjoy wine and food tasting as well as significant deals on any purchase of selected products. Different types of cheese from reputable manufacturers will be available for tasting during the expo.
The Wine & Cheese Expo will also feature Indonesia's Best Sommelier Competition, Wine Workshop, Jakarta Wine &Cheese Run, and also Wine Dinner with Special Guest Chef.
As in previous editions, the series of events in the Jakarta Fashion and Food festival will kick off with massive excitement. However, in view of the ongoing construction works of the Light Rail Transit (LRT) transportation system across Jakarta, this year, the Gading Nite Carnival will not be held along the Boulevard Street. Instead, the opening of JFFF 2017 will be highlighted with spectacular fireworks show on Saturday, 8th April 2017 at 20.00 West Indonesia Time.
