The Kewpie Doll at the Sydney Royal Easter Show

The Kewpie Doll was originally a character in a comic strip authored by Rose O'Neil, an American, in the early 1900's.

It was soon made into a doll and Australia adopted it as its own. The Kewpie Doll became a popular souvenir at Agricultural Shows right across Australia, especially in the 1950's.

It became an Australian icon, and even featured in the closing ceremony of the 2000 Olympic Games held in Sydney at the Olympic Park.
