June Events Update in NSW

From the spectacular Vivid Sydney, with its longest ever program, to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia and the popular Eurobodalla River of Art 10 day festival, Sydney and New South Wales’s event calendar is packed full of events over the coming month.

SYDNEY

May 27 – June 18: In 2016, Vivid Sydney will host its longest program ever running for 23 nights from 27 May until 18 June. Vivid Sydney features many of the world's most important creative industry forums, a mesmerising free public exhibition of outdoor lighting sculptures and installations and a cutting-edge contemporary music program

Until June 13: The world premiere of renowned New York LEGO brick artist, Nathan Sawaya’s latest exhibition, The Art of the Brick: DC Comics will show exclusively at Sydney’s Powerhouse Museum. The Art of the Brick is the most successful LEGO brick exhibition series of all time. The latest iteration will see heroes and villains including Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman and The Joker re-created in Sydney, to entertain visitors of all ages

Until July 18: At the Australian Museum, Trailblazers: Australia's 50 greatest explorers tells the stories of the pioneers who pushed beyond the boundaries to change the way we see the world. In this interactive exhibition, visitors will discover what it's really like to be an adventurer and learn about the incredible talents and techniques of Indigenous Australians, the nation's first explorers

Until August 28: Featuring looks from Alexander McQueen, Philip Treacy, Hussein Chalayan, Julien Macdonald and more, the private collection of late fashion visionary Isabella Blow will be on display for a strictly limited exclusive season at the Powerhouse Museum, Sydney.

Until June 5: The meadows of Macarthur will soon be sprinkled with striking sculptures as part of the free, outdoor Western Sydney University Sculpture Exhibition. Families are invited to come and picnic around the lakes and enjoy the head-turning artworks showcased on the rolling hills of the university campus, which provides an ideal setting to display the large outdoor sculptures.
