Vivid at Darling Harbour |
The extra five nights compared to last year provides visitors – especially those coming on Vivid Sydney travel packages – additional time to explore Regional NSW to get a taste of what NSW has to offer and to ensure tourism operators from across the State benefit from this outstanding event.
This year’s event has been a huge hit with festival-goers who are again sharing their experiences on social media in extraordinary numbers. New Vivid Sydney precincts Taronga Zoo and the Royal Botanic Garden Sydney are proving to be extremely popular, with this year’s selfie-favourite, the Cathedral of Light, drawing thousands of visitors from across the globe.
During Vivid Sydney, Destination NSW is hosting 100 international media to showcase Sydney to the world and drive visitation to NSW.
Destination NSW CEO and Vivid Sydney Executive Producer Sandra Chipchase said “We are delighted to be providing international media with an opportunity to learn more about Vivid Sydney 2016 as well as great ideas to encourage visitors to experience Sydney and Regional NSW.”
Vivid Sydney will run through to 18 June, with a jam-packed schedule of daytime Ideas talks, seminars and forums combined with night-time tours of the light installations and evening music performances.
