Stunning 360-degree view of Australia’s Nature Coast on show to the world

The world’s foremost tourism specialists have been treated to a stunning 360-degree view of the Fraser and Sunshine Coast’s iconic natural attractions through an innovative new video project.

Bringing together cutting-edge aerial imagery technology and the most beautiful visitor locations across both destinations, the project is a collaboration between Fraser Coast Opportunities (FCO) and Visit Sunshine Coast (VSC), further promoting the award-winning Australia’s Nature Coast collaborative international marketing campaign.

The videos were launched to international media and trade representatives at the Australian Tourism Exchange on the Gold Coast in late May, and will be rolled out to media and trade shows across the world.

The immersive viewing experience offers a thrilling 360-degree perspective of the regions’ world-class natural attractions including Lake McKenzie and the Maheno shipwreck on Fraser Island, the Urangan Pier at Hervey Bay, Pelican Bank on the Great Sandy Strait, Rainbow Beach’s Double Island Point, Main Beach Noosa Heads, and the Glass House Mountains.

Fraser Coast Opportunities Interim General Manager, Leigh Bennett, said the response to the project had been extremely positive.

“People have been blown away by the immersive experience and unique perspective of our iconic natural attractions provided by this new technology.’’

“It shows the stunning beauty of Australia’s Nature Coast in a whole new light, and the ability to get this to a travel agent in Germany who has never been to Australia is completely exciting,” said Mr Bennett.

Visit Sunshine Coast’s Acting CEO Simon Latchford said the video project was another example of the benefits to flow from regional co-operation.

“Consumers don’t recognise regional barriers, and given our proximity and our joint commitment to nature based tourism, the ANC partnership has been an obvious one.

“This video project is the latest example of what can be achieved by leveraging the unique natural assets of the adjoining Sunshine Coast and Fraser Coast tourism regions – it’s a stunning showcase,’’ he said.

Kingfisher Bay Resort Groups Director of Sales and Marketing, Kerry Brough applauded the project as an innovative way to get the Australia’s Nature Coast message out to the key western markets.

“We have been seeing these videos at a national level, but it is certainly great to see the ANC project as an early adopter to jump on and deliver an innovative project such as this. It is an exciting new way to share this incredible destination with the world, and I have no doubt it will be well received by audiences over the coming months,’ said Ms Brough.
