The Awards keep coming for Country Music Festival

Tamworth Country Music Festival
For the fourth consecutive year, the Tamworth Country Music Festival has been named as a finalist in the Inland Tourism Awards.

Destination Tamworth - the division of Tamworth Regional Council that delivers the events and tourism program - was advised yesterday of the successful awards submission in the Festivals and Events Category.

Festival Director John Sommerlad said “being named as a finalist is a true testament to how significant our Festival is to Inland Tourism”.

“The Festival not only contributes to the Tamworth region but to NSW as a whole and we are very fortunate to host such an extraordinary event”.

The overarching theme for the 2015 Festival 'It's Country Music…and so much more' encouraged Festival visitors to take advantage of the many experiences available across the region.

“Having this additional focus enabled us to further promote Tamworth as a year round country music destination and in turn assisted in our application for the awards” Mr Sommerlad said.

A representative of the Awards judging panel visited the region in June to conduct an indepth assessment of the award application and tour the city with Destination Tamworth.

A record number of finalists have been announced across 19 categories from the regional tourism areas of Central, Inland, Murray and Riverina. Inland NSW Tourism Award winners are automatically entered into the NSW State Tourism Awards.

Representatives from Destination Tamworth will attend the 2015 Inland Tourism Awards gala dinner and presentation night that will be held in Broken Hill on Saturday 25 July.

The Nundle Woolen Mill has also been name as a finalist for the 2015 Inland Tourism Awards.
