Rebrand for Iconic Eco Resort

Eco Beach
It was 1993 when Broome based builder Karl Plunkett, visited the area on a fishing trip and fell in love with the spectacular pocket of coastline at Cape Villaret where Eco Beach is located. He had a vision of a remote tourism getaway that became a reality when the original property opened in 1996, helping to pioneer the “green” travel movement.

Disaster struck when Cyclone Rosita hit Eco Beach as a Category 5 cyclone in 2000 completely destroying the property. Only 14 of the original 41 huts were left standing and the conference centre and bar totally destroyed. Karl was not going to let his vision die and began his ambitious plans to rebuild.

With much excitement and anticipation the new Eco Beach Resort opened in May 2009. The demand was now for a more sophisticated ecotourism product, so Eco Beach while remaining true to its commitment to environmentally friendly sustainable tourism, offered an enhanced level of luxury and resort experience for guests.

Since 2009 Eco Beach has continued to build its reputation as a remarkable destination and a place where guests come to “retreat, resort, rejunvenate”. The property offers 2 fully self-contained beach houses, 25 eco villas and 30 eco tents, all linked by a raised walkway to protect the fragile environment. Jack's Bar & Restaurant sits in a magnificent location overlooking the Indian Ocean and offers first class dining incorporating fresh seasonal produce from our own organic gardens. Guests are invited to come play with nature, with a range of activities including bushwalking, indigenous tours, whale and turtle watching or fishing.

Now Eco Beach is ready to take the next step forward becoming part of the Wyndham Hotel Group and rebranding as “Ramada Eco Beach Resort”. By joining with one of the world's largest and most diverse hotel groups encompassing over 7,500 hotels in 71 countries, Eco Beach will be showcased to a worldwide audience.

Eco Beach
Rest assured that Eco Beach remains a family owned business with Karl still very much involved and the same close knit local management team in place. Ramada Eco Beach Resort will be working hard to build business through the Wyndham connection and increase visitor numbers to both Broome as a destination, and our property. Continuing to work alongside our partners to provide outstanding services, facilities and tours, we'll remain as an iconic, environmentally focused eco resort, providing a high level of resort facilities and experiences for our guests in one of the world's most remarkable destinations.
