The festival is scheduled to feature 4,000 items in three areas: various kinds of flowers, ornamental fish, and gardens area; the international products area; and the festival space area.
The items will focus on three major themes: national unity; Viet Nam’s sea and islands; and Ho Chi Minh City’s achievement over the past 40 years.
A series of activities, including puppet, flower arrangement contest, dragon dance and folk games, will also be held during the festival.
The event will draw the participation of famous Southern bonsai artisans from Long An, My Tho (Tien Giang province), Can Tho, Sa Dec (Dong Thap province), Da Lat (Lam Dong province), Bien Hoa (Dong Nai province), Ben Tre and Vinh Long, as well some foreign artisans.
Beside three annual city-level Tet flower markets at September 23 Park, Gia Dinh Park and Le Van Tam Park, Ho Chi Minh City will organise 125 other Tet markets in 20 districts for people to visit during the festival.
