Xiamen expects to witness the arrival of more than 40 cruise liners in 2015 taking the number of tourist arrivals via cruise liners to over 40, 000, up more than 100% compared with last year. According to the prediction of the China Cruise & Yacht Industry Association (CCYIA), the total amount of China’s cruise home ports is expected to reach 12 in 2015 from the amount of 8 in 2014, and more than 1 million mainland passengers are expected to travel by cruise liner in 2015.
Liners from the world’s top 4 cruise enterprises – Carnival Cruise Lines, Royal Caribbean, Star Cruises, and Princess Cruises will visit Xiamen this year.
Notably, the world’s best cruise company, the Royal Caribbean, will put more of its cruises liners on the Xiamen market in 2015. For instance, the ‘Legend of the Seas’, one of the 21 luxury cruises liners owned by Royal Caribbean, will make Xiamen its homeport and carry out 9 cruise routes in 2015.
The ‘Quantum of the Seas’ that is equipped with the most advanced technologies in the world, the ‘Legends of the Seas’ that boasts the world’s most comfortable tonnage and capacity, and the most Asian-like ‘SuperStar Virgo’ are also expected to visit Xiamen in 2015.
