Fort Worth Lassos New Cultural Events for 2015

Modern Museum
Fort Worth's Cultural District houses five internationally recognized museums in a beautiful, park-like setting. Upcoming renovations and exhibitions for 2015 include:

National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame

The National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame is the only museum in the world dedicated to honoring women of the American West who have displayed extraordinary courage and pioneer spirit in their trailblazing efforts. In May 2015 renovations of the downstairs level will be revealed and showcased for visitors to view. The museum currently includes interactive exhibit galleries that feature artifacts of the permanent collection, two theaters and the archives house more than 4000 artifacts and information about more than 750 remarkable women.

Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Admission is free.
Audubon's Beasts: Jan. 15 – Aug. 2, featuring Audubon's greatest depictions of North America's four-legged animals in their natural habitats, from swamps to savannahs.
American Still Life: Feb. 14 –Aug. 2, showcases approximately sixty works from the museum's collection of nineteenth- and twentieth-century still lifes.
Like Father, Like Son: Edward and Brett Weston: Feb. 21–Aug. 23

Kimbell Art Museum

Admission is $18.00 per person; viewing of the permanent collection is free.
The Collection of Nancy Lee and Perry R. Bass: March 1 - May 24, a selection of paintings and sculptures amassed by Fort Worth philanthropists will be on display in the Renzo Piano Pavilion.
Botticelli to Braque: June 28 – Sep. 20, Fifty-Five masterpieces from the National Galleries of Scotland spanning a period of more than 400 years (1490–1932) will be on display. Items include some of the greatest holdings of the Scottish National Gallery, Scottish National Portrait Gallery and Scottish National Gallery of Modern Art.

Modern Art Museum

Admission is $10.00 per person.
Framing Desire: Photography and Video: Feb 21- Aug 23, an exhibition showcasing over 40 recent acquisitions alongside iconic photographs and videos from the permanent collection. Key works by Cory Arcangel, Artemio, Larry Clark, Philip-Lorca diCorcia, Rineke Dijkstra, Debbie Grossman and many more.

Development planned for the next five years includes: a multi-million dollar investment in the Stockyards National Historic District, retail growth featuring Neiman Marcus, convention center and arena updates.
