COUNTRY MUSIC FESTIVAL HITS TAMWORTH STREETS

Tamworth Country Music Festival
The Toyota Country Music Festival Tamworth will kicked off at last Friday night with a free opening concert and fireworks in Tamworth’s Toyota Park (Bicentennial Park).

Headlined by Kasey Chambers, the concert featured Nashville star Jerry Salley and Nashville-based Aussie Kristy Cox, Harry Hookey, 2014 Toyota Star Maker Jared Porter, and The Hillbilly Goats – winners of the popular public vote as part of a recent “Load & Launch” talent search Facebook competition.

The concert marked the start of 10 days of world-class country music in the venues and streets of Tamworth, with some of the entertainment highlights including hundreds of busking musicians along Peel Street; Kenny Rogers performing as part of his Through the Years World Tour; The Merri Soul Sessions featuring Australian icon Paul Kelly and guests; and gigs by John Williamson, Graeme Connors, Troy Cassar-Daley, Melinda Schneider and many more.

On Saturday 24 January, the Toyota Country Music Cavalcade will see more than 80 floats themed ‘It’s Country Music...and so much more’ take to the streets in a celebration of music and community.

That evening, the prestigious Golden Guitars – Country Music Awards of Australia will see the best of Australian country music talent recognised, with an outstanding lineup of performances set to please the fans.

The Toyota Country Music Festival Tamworth 2015 will be held to Sunday 25 January. It is proudly supported by the NSW Government through its tourism and major events agency Destination NSW.
