PINK BEACH KOMODO FLORES- INDONESIA

Pink Beach is the name given by foreign tourists at one of the beaches on the island of Komodo, East Nusa Tenggara Province.

Most people know him as the Red Beach.

Why the name Pink Beach or Red Beach?
The answer - granules of Red Sand
Beach Red or Pink Beach is one of the beautiful beaches on the island of Komodo.
This beach dubbed Red or Pink Beach Beach because of the color of red sand.

Actually, it is not all red sand, but a mixture of white and red sand.
If viewed from afar, this color combination makes sand on the beach look pink or red.

The origin of the red sand is also uncertain.

Some say that it is derived from red beads red coral fragments were destroyed.
Some say that the red granules derived from the shells of marine animals.
Others say that the red color of the sand comes from microscopic animals (can only be seen with a microscope) called foraminifera.

Rich Coral Beautiful

In addition to the unique color of the sand, the beach is interesting because it is rich in fish and coral reefs.
Approximately 1,000 species of fish, hundreds of species of coral, coral, and 70 types of sponges live on this coast.

Therefore, this beach is perfect for lovers of the sea for snorkeling and diving.

Unfortunately, the sea water here is known to have fairly strong current.

Strong currents is due to a meeting of the northern tropical sea water and sea water from the south.
