The Elvis Express has rolled into Central NSW with an estimated 18,000 expected to attend this year’s Parkes Elvis Festival. Yesterday, 400 festival goers gathered at Sydney’s Central Station to catch the NSW TrainLink Elvis Express which transports passengers to Parkes for the festival.
Acting Premier and Minister for Tourism and Major Events Troy Grant joined Mayor of Parkes, Ken Keith OAM, at Central Station to welcome guests and wish them well on the journey.
The festival, which is supported by the NSW Government through Destination NSW, features a jam-packed five-day program of events including free main stage entertainment, look-a-like contests, Tribute to Elvis Competition, the Elvis Street Parade, displays of Elvis memorabilia, Elvis Gospel Service, Cars of the Era Car Show and over 100 unique Elvis-style events.
