Air New Zealand rated as top global airline by AirlineRatings

According to AirlineRatings.com Air New Zealand has been chosen as the airline of the year 2015. Qantas has taken the fourth position in the global top ten rankings. The airline has maintained its position once again in this year.

The top ten ranks for the most awarded and experienced airline team are:
  1. Air New Zealand;
  2. Etihad
  3. Cathay Pacific
  4. Qantas
  5. Emirates
  6. Singapore Airlines
  7. EVA Air
  8. Lufthansa
  9. All Nippon Airways
  10. British Airways

Air New Zealand has been honored for the second consecutive time for its winning in-flight innovations, record financial performance, operational safety and motivation of its staff that have stamped the airline an industry trendsetter.

It has also won the best premier economy class award which is focused on being a young technologically advanced fleet with its continuous attention on environmentally friendly means of operation.

The editor of Airlineratings.com Geoffrey Thomas felt that the airline is remarkable especially due to its location and the countries size and its excellent performance.

CEO Air New Zealand, Christopher Luxon felt that the outstanding efforts of the 11,000 employees are the reason for this award. He added that the investment in new aircraft and enhancements to the customer experience and continued strong focus on cost control and operational excellence have helped them to maintain their position.

Qantas has been awarded Best Domestic Service, Best Catering and Best Lounges.Qantas’ domestic economy class product stating that it was clearly the world’s best while the airline’s lounges are outstanding.

Chief Executive Officer of Etihad Airways expressed his satisfaction at receiving best First Class for its new upgraded product unveiled this year along with Best First Class and Best Long Haul Airline in the Middle East and Africa. He was happy that Etihad Airways was placed second in the world’s top 10 ranking.

Cathay Pacific picked up Best Business Class, while Best Economy Class went to Thai Airways and Best In-Flight Entertainment to Emirates.
Virgin Australia won Best New World Carrier, an award that recognizes the transformation that many airlines are trying to meet rapidly changing market demands. The airline also picked up Best Cabin Crew for its outstanding staff.

JetBlue for the Americas, Norwegian in Europe, Kulula.com for the Middle-East/Africa and newcomer Scoot for Asia/Pacific, were selected for their value and safety in the Low Cost Airline sector.

Lufthansa for Europe along with Etihad for the Middle-East/Africa and EVA Air for Asia/Pacific received the excellence in Long Haul travel.

AirlineRatings.com is a Perth based rating site for airlines that studies the safety and in flight product of 450 airlines using its unique seven-star rating system. It was launched in 2013.It involves millions of passengers from 232 countries and has become the industry standard for safety and product rating. The safety rating system has also been endorsed by the International Civil Aviation Organization.
