CIBTM Buyers Confirm Demand For Outbound Business Into Latin

Recent research conducted by Reed Travel Exhibitions has identified Latin American countries Argentina, Brazil and Mexico as destinations where CIBTM (www.cibtm.com) buyers are interested in placing outbound MICE business.

Jeffrey Xu, CIBTM Project Manager, Reed Travel Exhibitions commented, “In our research 25% of buyers named Brazil as a preferred destination for outbound MICE events, 18% named Argentina, and 17% Mexico. These figures demonstrate the potential business opportunities that CIBTM holds for exhibitors from this region.”

“We have a very positive outlook for 2013; our research indicated that 62% of Chinese buyers reported that the number of events that they are involved in will increase in the next 12 months. In addition to this, 72% predicted the use of new destinations in the next 12 months, which is very positive for Latin American countries considering participating in the show,” concluded Xu.

Eduardo Chaillo, CMP, CMM President, Global Meetings & Tourism Specialists, who will be returning to CIBTM 2013 as an exhibitor commented, “Participating in CIBTM for the first time in 2012 was a very successful experience for the Mexico Tourism Board as we were able to showcase ourselves in the Chinese meetings market for the first time.

“We found CIBTM to be a very productive business platform and exhibition. The way in which appointments are arranged at CIBTM, as well as the different networking events at the show, allowed us to make some very good connections which will certainly convert into increased business from specific groups from China to Mexico, especially within the incentive travel arena.”

CIBTM, the China Incentives, Business Travel and Meetings Exhibition, will be hosted this year from 2nd – 4th September at the China National Convention Centre in Beijing. The show provides a gateway for international exhibitors to meet and expand their business into China.
