Australian TV Program ‘THE GURUS EXPLORE’ visit Korea to Film Highlights of Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island

The Australian television program ‘The Gurus Explore’ team from Perth have just wrapped up filming a one hour travel program on Korea which is expected to be broadcast on Channel 9 in Australia this October.

The presenters Trevor Cochrane and Kim Syrus from Guru Productions Pty. Ltd. based in Perth have filmed this week some unique aspects of Korea including scuba-diving and paragliding on Korea’s beautiful semi-tropical island of Jeju as well as filmed the excitement of a major baseball game in Busan.

The program when broadcast later this year will highlight many adventurous activities and fun things that Australians can enjoy when they travel to Korea. To truly experience Korea is to get to know the country well and this can only be done through joining some interesting and unique activities that only Korea has to offer.

The Gurus Explore TV team spent the past nine days in South Korea filming many of these unique experiences in Seoul, Busan and Jeju Island. In Seoul they have focused on a ‘food tour experience’, a ‘wine train experience’ to the countryside outside of Seoul as well as a ‘templestay experience’ which are truly authentic Korean experiences that any tourist to Seoul can enjoy.

On Jeju Island they filmed Jeju’s natural beauty highlighting its UNESCO World Natural Heritage status by paragliding over the Geumak Oreum Volcano. There are many extinct volcanoes on Jeju Island as well as one of the world’s longest lava tubes. For adventure seekers, it’s an ideal destination with adventure activities like paragliding, scuba-diving, sailing and windsurfing.

Kim Syrus, Presenter of The Gurus Explore told journalists on Jeju “I have never been to Jeju and this is my first experience paragliding! It was truly amazing, watching the beautiful scenery from above Jeju Island with the flight above the volcano being the most impressive. I believe our film will encourage Australians to travel to Jeju island to experience the wonderful adventure activities you have on this island”.

On Jeju Island the team also filmed ‘The Spirited Garden’ which is one of the most spectacular Bonsai Gardens in Korea and Asia – a segment that will no doubt be shown as well on the Gurus other program ‘The Garden Gurus’ later this year.

In Busan the team had a very exciting experience filming the amazing atmosphere and fan support of a baseball game between two of Korea’s top teams the Lotte Giants and NC Dinos. The Pitcher for the Lotte Giants presently is the highly regarded Australian silver medalist from the 2004 Athens Olympics, Chris Oxspring in their team this year.

This highly anticipated one hour ‘South Korea’ travel program is expected to be shown on Channel 9 in Australia in October this year showing Australians what exciting and adventurous experiences can be enjoyed in South Korea.
