Kidney Kar Rally 2011

This month there is a great  opportunity for people to either participate or watch a great event that is  celebrating its twenty-third birthday in Australia this year. The The 2011 Kidney Kar Rally will start in Wagga Wagga, travelling mainly through New South Wales and just over the Queensland border, with a lay-day by the sea at Port Macquarie, before finishing eight days and more than 4,000 kilometres later, in Cowra.

This annual, off-road, fundraising event raises money for Kidney Health Australia, in particular for the Kidney Kid's Camp.

If you're not the competitive type, but still want to be part of this great annual adventure, why not join the Kruise section? Stay on the better roads and meet up with everyone for meals and overnight stops. Come along for the trip of a lifetime. All levels of driving ability are welcome and any road registered vehicle is accepted.

Entrants come from various parts of Australia and participate in all types of vehicles.  Not just for those with rally class vehicles – any road registered vehicle can take part.

The rally runs for about 8 days in August each year and takes in some breathtaking scenery. Previous rallies have been run through routes from Darwin to Dubbo, from Launceston to my local town of Muswellbrook and last year from Swan Hill to Glen Innes via the Flinders Ranges.
