Thousands of people will travel to Wallsend on Sunday14 August 2011 to join in the fun of the Wallsend Winter Carnivale. In previous years more than 35,000 have attended this family friendly Wallsend celebration. Wallsend is a suburb of Newcastle, NSW Australia, and is 125 km from Muswellbrook and 151 km from Sydney.
The day will feature a Grand Parade, rides, fashion parades and hair shows. The circus will be present with the big trapeze erected offering death defying aerial acts, juggling and clowning around being the main event on the day.
Entertainment will be provided all day by local dance clubs, local bands, community demonstrations and the big bands in the Rotunda.
Local businesses will opened their doors and spill out into the street to create colourful market style displays. Mixed in with local businesses will be a group of quality market stalls offering arts, craft and fine foods as well as kid’s entertainment with face painting, jumping castle, bungee jumping, and rock climbing.
