On behalf of Quang Ninh leaders, Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented flowers to the 3 millionth visitors.
The 3 millionth visitors, Tina Bogle and her husband Davia Bogle from the US, and nearly 900 passengers travelled from China’s Hong Kong. Their cruise ship, Viking Orion, arrived in Ha Long city at 8am on October 21.
During their two-day stay, they are set to visit Ha Long bay, Quang Ninh museum and many other tourist attractions.
Mr. Cao Tuong Huy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee cum Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee presented flowers to these three millionth visitors.
The welcoming event marks a milestone for the locality, demonstrating its efforts to overcome Typhoon Yagi aftermath to host visitors with the highest quality services.
It also aims to spread the message of "Quang Ninh - A safe, friendly, hospitable destination" to international visitors.
More than 60 cruise ships are expected to visit Ha Long in the 2024-2025 season, including luxury ones of such renowned brands as Viking Orion, Costa, Seven Seas, Noordam, Celebrity Solstice, and Mein Schiff.
In the first nine months of this year, Quang Ninh received 15.64 million tourist arrivals, with more than 2.59 million foreign arrivals. It eyes to reach the target of welcoming 19 million visitor arrivals, comprising over 3.5 million foreign arrivals this year, creating growth momentum for 2025 and the subsequent years.
Quang Ninh welcomed the 3 millionth international visitors, marking a new record for Quang Ninh's tourism industry.
The Viking Orion ship is the 43rd international cruise ship to the province in 2024.
