Strong Attendance on Opening Days for 55th Sydney International Boat Show

 

The 55th Sydney International Boat Show has attracted strong and enthusiastic attendance across the opening two days, as visitors enjoy the broad lifestyle appeal of spending time in and around the waterways of New South Wales and beyond.

The Show’s final day is tomorrow (Sunday 4 August) at Sydney International Convention Centre (ICC) and Cockle Bay at Darling Harbour, with doors open from 10am until 5pm

 

Recognised as one of the world’s leading boat shows, the Show has attracted strong crowds over the first two days, with a comprehensive and diverse recreational marine exhibition. Filling the exhibition halls at the ICC Sydney, the custom-built marina at Cockle Bay and surrounding foreshore, the Show presents everything the marine enthusiast could dream of, all in one iconic location. From cruising, sailing, ski and wakeboarding, kayaking, snorkeling, fishing and so much more. There is something for everyone! 

 

More than 200 marine businesses from across Australia and beyond have converged on Darling Harbour, featuring more than 600 vessels and presenting thousands of marine products. 

 

2024 Show Facts: 

  • The most expensive boat for sale is the Horizon FD80 Skyline, valued at $15.15M (Horizon Yachts Australia - Marina M 147)
  • The largest boat is the Nomad 101 by M/Y Bluestone at 101ft (Flagship International - Marina M 137)
  • The exhibitors with the most boatsinclude Sirocco Marine with more than 32 boats in the Halls (Halls 402), and Short Marine on the Marina with 14 boats on display and an estimated total value of $23.5M (Marina M 146)
  • The boat with the widest beam is the Lagoon SEVENTY 8 by TMG Yachts with an 11m beam (Marina M 194)
  • Ray White Marine has the most expensive showcase with five boats and an estimated total value of $30M (Marina M 161)
  • More than 40 Southern Hemisphere, Asia-Pacific and Australian launches and premieres will take place (see list below and release HERE)
  • The most unique experience is GoBoats with their electric boat rides, located in the Demonstration Zone 
  • Latest trends include all things electric - motors, boats, gadgets and PWCs, and boating syndication and subscription membership programs 
  • The most affordable non-powered vessel is Red Paddle Co.- SUP – offering a range of boating apparel and accessories (Halls 308)
  • Some of the most unique vesselsinclude: Sipaboards with OutdoorXcite – world’s first electric stand-up paddle boards (Halls 32); Sealegs International – the boat that can drive out of the water on wheels (Halls 209); Jetcar Australia - an exhilarating new boating experience (Marina M 172); Lisa Blair’s yacht, Climate Action Now (Marina M 190); and Carbon Yachts with Candela C8, hydrofoiling electric boat (Marina M 149)
  • Some of the coolest gadgets includeBlue3 with the Nomad Mini (Halls 14); Fibre Boats with the F5 (Halls 29); Navico with the Lowrance Recon trolling motor and Navico with the Lowrance Eagle Eye fish finder (Halls 207) and Volvo Penta with their  Inboard Performance System (IPS) fully integrated helm-to-propeller experience (Halls 203B)

Daily giveaways continue at The Main Stage and Discover Sailing & Paddling Hub, including Red Paddle Co inflatable SUP paddleboads, tickets to the Sydney premiere of Lisa Blair’s documentary feature film, Ice Maiden, and loads of products and merchandise. Plus, the winner of the “money can’t buy” fishing day out for the winner and two friends hosted by Andrew ‘’ET” Ettingshausen, will be announced.

The Sydney International Boat Show runs until 5pm Sunday 4 August. Adult tickets are $29.50 plus booking fee and concession tickets are $26 plus booking fee.
