While foreign chains slug it out in the kitchen over Big Macs and Big Jacks, the Gold Coast's Paradise Resort knows which side its hamburger roll is buttered by paying homage to its flamboyant owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz, with the global launch of the 'Giant Jerry'.

This whopper of a burger would stand tall in any company, and the locally designed and crafted work of art is making its debut this week at the new Jerry's Burgers joint in the recently renovated Paradise Resort Gold Coast.

Boasting a 180gram beef pattie, cheddar cheese, bacon, hash brown, grilled tomato, caramelised mushrooms, fried egg and BBQ sauce, wrapped in a pillow-soft bun, the Giant Jerry makes a statement that is unforgettable.

With enough protein and energy to fuel a day of frenetic fun at Paradise Resort, the breakfast burger is debuting after extensive market research amongst guests of Paradise Resort.

“When you have so many activities available at a resort – everything from laser tag to ice skating – starting the day with a full tank of fuel is crucial,” says Paradise Resort General Manager, David Brook.

“We expect the burger to be just as popular with parents, as Paradise Resort tends to bring out the 'big kid' in most parents and they get as involved in the activities as their kids.

“The naming of the burger just seemed logical, as our owner, Dr Jerry Schwartz, personifies boundless energy and this new creation is homage to his work in re-energising the resort with its massive upgrade.”

Dr Schwartz said he wasn't aware of any food item being named after him, so he considered it an honour to have a burger outlet and the signature burger named after him.

“Our chefs at Paradise Resort came up with the menu and they believe it will make a giant impression as the resort transforms into a new and even more exciting holiday oasis for parents and children,” said Dr 

Schwartz.

“We're looking forward to sharing both the new facilities and the new burger with our friends from around Australia once the borders re-open. Believe me, it will be worth the trip from Sydney or Melbourne just to experience a Giant Jerry!”
