CULINARY EXPERIENCES IN TOKYO JAPAN

Azumaya in Ginza
JAPANESE SEASONAL DELIGHTS 

Azumaya in Ginza serves just two parties daily: one for lunch and one for dinner. Every dish is prepared and presented with impeccable care and hospitality. SUSHI 

At Matsunozushi, a family enterprise that’s been serving classic Edomae-style sushi since 1910, book a dining experience that’s complete with a tailormade master class by the fourth-generation chef. Chef Yoshi’s customized experiences begin with a chat to find out where his guests’ interests lie. He is happy to accompany them on an early-morning excursion to the fish market to select the fish, visiting his trusted vendors to sample along the way. For those who would like to learn the basics of sushi making, or hone their skills, he gives hands-on pointers or even a full class right in the restaurant. Any of the above can be combined with a multicourse meal of his masterful creations, enhanced by the friendly conversation that is a hallmark of Tokyo’s sushi culture. Location: Shinagawa 

KAISEKI 

Among the dishes served in a multicourse kaiseki meal, the wanmono soup is said to reflect the height of the chef’s skills. At Ginza Okuda the suppon-dofu turtle soup, served in a lacquered bowl with its savory round egg custard evoking the full moon, is gorgeous enough to adorn a picture scroll.  Lunch Course JPY 13,000 / Course JPY 16,000 Dinner Course JPY 24,000.  Location: Ginza

Tofuya Ukai features beautiful pine trees and a pond where Koi carp swim. Passing in front of the garden lantern and waterwheel and walking on the steppingstones, you will find yourself back in time in the town of Edo, the Tokyo of 200 years ago. You can enjoy the extraordinary atmosphere in the restaurant with 6,600 m² of extensive Japanese gardens. They offer various seasonal menu which revolves around their original tofu incorporated full course traditional Japanese cuisine. Location: At the foot of Tokyo Tower 

Nihonryori Kanda
TRUE JAPANESE CUISINE 

One of four Tokyo restaurants that have maintained their Michelin three-star status for the full 11 years since Michelin Guide Tokyo was first published in 2007, Nihonryori Kanda is celebrated throughout the world for its quintessential Japanese cuisine. Owner-chef Hiroyuki Kanda plans each day’s menu based on that morning’s freshest available ingredients. Location: Roppongi/Moto Azabu 

TEMPURA 

The venerable tempura restaurant Kondo in Ginza is arguably the best of the genre. When you bite into a crisp morsel of tempura that is cooked to perfection before your eyes and served right there on the spot, you will know pure bliss. Location: Ginza Lunch Course: JPY8,000 ~ JPY11,000 Dinner Course: JPY 13,000 ~ JPY 21,000 

SAKE EXPEREINCE with JAPANESE CUISINE 

At Fushikino, down a cozy lane in Kagurazaka, exquisite Japanese cuisine and delightful sake pairings selected by a master Kikisakeshi sommelier and Sakasho craftsman create an unforgettable memory. Sakurai Japanese Tea Experience 
TEA SALON 

The stylish Sakurai Japanese Tea Experience in fashionable Aoyama is the perfect place to explore the wonderful world of Japanese tea beyond the usual thick matcha. Explore the more than 50 varieties of local Japanese tea or perhaps one of the tea-infused cocktails. This is not a restaurant. In lieu of full meals, you will partake in light snacks with tea. Location: Aoyama
