Limited Edition Parfaits in Japan

One of the best ways to enjoy Japan’s four seasons is to indulge in seasonal specialities like gorgeous limited-edition parfaits that you can find at many shops across the country.

If you like to Instagram your desserts, one you could try is the colourful Hydrangea Parfait from the Gion Shijo branch of Itohkyuemon teahouse – a venerable Kyoto tea purveyor founded in 1832 specialising in Uji green tea. Inspired by hydrangeas that bloom in June, the parfait is served with green tea hydrangea kinton (a traditional bean paste dessert), matcha cookies, and blueberries.
