If you like to Instagram your desserts, one you could try is the colourful Hydrangea Parfait from the Gion Shijo branch of Itohkyuemon teahouse – a venerable Kyoto tea purveyor founded in 1832 specialising in Uji green tea. Inspired by hydrangeas that bloom in June, the parfait is served with green tea hydrangea kinton (a traditional bean paste dessert), matcha cookies, and blueberries.
