The ancient town of Hoi An is to offer free tickets to the Old Quarter and Thanh Ha pottery village on December 4 to commemorate the 20th anniversary of UNESCO’s recognition of Hoi An as a World Cultural Heritage site.
Information on the offer was released by Truong Thi Ngoc Cam, Director of the Center for Culture, Sports, Radio & Television of Hoi An city, on November 20.
Each guest who registers to visit Hoi An on December 4 will enjoy free entry to the relic sites without the need to purchase a ticket. In addition, tourists interested in going to Thanh Ha Pottery Village will also receive free tickets on the special day.
According to a report released by Quang Nam’s Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the month of June saw the province receive over 782,000 visitors, including over 415,000 domestic tourists and 367,000 foreign arrivals, representing an annual increase of 19 per cent.
During 2018, a range of new tourism products were launched in Quang Nam, including the Ky Uc Hoi An show, also known as the Hoi An Memories show, the opening of the Hoi An Impression Theme Park, and the Nam Hoi An Resort and Entertainment site.
Furthermore, the town has also received a number of tourism awards from prestigious organisations such as the ASEAN Clean Tourist Award, while a series of hotels located around Dien Ban such as the Four Seasons The Nam Hai, the Almanity Hoi An, and the La Siesta Hoi An resort & spa all won various international and domestic awards.
Following the success of 2018, this year is considered to be pivotal for the implementation of the goals set out within the provincial People's Committee’s resolution, which aims to transform Quang Nam into one of the nation’s major tourism hubs after 2020.
