The Earl’s Regency Hotel has 134 rooms in seven different styles to meet the needs of any type of traveller, My room, like all the other guest rooms, offered free WiFi, balconies and flat-screen TVs with satellite channels, 24-hour room service, minibars and coffee/tea makers. My room was fitted with good amenities, while some other rooms have unique facilities such as an in-room Jacuzzi. In my room were amenities such as a tea and coffee percolator, hairdryer, telephone and safe. These can be found in all of our accommodation options as well. Further facilities include interconnecting rooms, additional cots or beds, 24-hour room service, laundry service, and dry cleaning.
The guest rooms are located in the Main Building and several wings, including the Knuckles Wing, South Wing, & Dumbara Wing. Check-in and check-out is at 12 noon, and if required, can be extended upon availability. Furthermore, driver’s accommodation and meals can be arranged.

This is dining at its best! Be sure to try the local cuisine at the Far Pavilion Restaurant, which is a luxury dining experience at our Kandy hotel. The Restaurant has a wide array of cuisines and a menu to cater to every taste.
There was no better way to start my day than by eating my breakfast there, the most important meal of the day. I explored the extensive buffet breakfast, starting with a wide array of juices, cereals, breads, pastries, cold cuts and fruit. There was a selection of eggs, sausages, baked beans, and other hot options. The breakfast action stations made omelettes, waffles, pancakes and other scrumptious treats cooked to order to ensure I started my day with a hearty breakfast. Sri Lankan breakfast options included delicacies such as kiribath, or milk rice, a traditional meal of sticky rice cooked in coconut milk and uttapam, a thick pancake made of ground lentils and rice served with spicy chutney, and egg curries, dhal, and sambols. An additional breakfast counter with Indian delicacies was also available during the breakfast buffet. Breakfast is served 6.30-10.30am.

As I was out touring during the day I did not eat lunch is in the Far Pavilions Restaurant. Lunch is a la carte style giving an option of international and local cuisine. Grilled sandwiches, soup, pasta, pizza, curry and fried rice, plus a choice of desserts – the chefs are always creating something new for guests to try. Lunch is served 12.30-3.30pm.

After a long day, nothing was better than enjoying the buffet dinner at the Far Pavilions Restaurant. Accompanying my meal was a wide selection of salads, canapés and home-made breads. The dinner buffet brought fantastic fare from the Far East, Mexico and Sri Lanka. I made sure I still had room for dessert, the beautifully presented puddings, gateaux, and ice creams that were the perfect way to finish the evening. I enjoyed the live music from the bad being played while I ate.

There are many places to see and things to do in Kandy which visitors cannot experience in any other part of the island. Amongst the most popular activities in Kandy would be to pay a visit to the sacred Sri Dalada Maligawa that gives visitors an inside look into the city’s history and tradition as it houses the relic of the tooth of Lord Buddha. If you happen to visit in July or August you can witness the Esala Perahera, an annual procession in which the tooth relic of Lord Buddha is carried through the streets accompanied by dancers and drummers. Nearby visitors can find the last royal palace built in Sri Lanka, which is in the temple complex, and now houses the National Museum of Kandy.
