Indochina Market - a popular tourist destination in Mukdahan

Indochina Market
The popular Indochina Market is located in Mukdahan, in Thailand on its Mekong River border with Laos. Here visitors can find imported products from many countries such as Russia, China, Vietnam and Laos. Apart from imported products, there are Mukdahan’s local products such as silk, Mudmee style clothing and other local products.

The products are sold on a retail and wholesale basis, with prices charged being lower if bought in quantities.

Goods on sale include clothes, ceramics, bags, dried foods, coffee, electrical gadgets and household goods. There are a couple of jewellery stores with nice silver and gold as well.

The Indochina Market is located in a very nice location along the Khon River and is mainly undercover and easy to get around. Visitors will need at least one hour or more to walk the whole market.

Visitors can take a stroll from the old ferry terminal to the temple and then back again in the market under the promenade.

There is a scenic viewpoint where tourists can watch the beautiful scenery of both sides of the Mekong River. From the dam near the Indochina Market tourists can see 2nd Thai-Lao Friendship Bridge at the west side of the river.

There is a wat on both the north and south sides that you can freely stroll through.

There are also a number of restaurants strung out along the south side of the riverfront including many popular ones serving local Thai food.

The Indochina Market is located at Sriboonruang subdistrict, Muang district, Mukdahan province.
