Enhancing the Star

The Okura Prestige Bangkok is pleased to announce that Elements has once again been recognised for its innovative dining experience featuring French cuisine with Japanese influences. The restaurant was ranked 3rd best in the country by leading luxury lifestyle magazine Thailand Tatler at the Thailand Tatler Best Restaurants Dining Guide Awards 2018. Reviewed anonymously, the 234 eateries that make it into the country’s definitive annual dining guide are assessed in four key categories—food, setting, drinks and service—and given a total points score out of 100. This year Elements placed 3rd with a fantastic score of 96 out of 100. The award is further recognition of the consistently high culinary and service standards set by the team at Elements following their recent capture of a Michelin star in the inaugural edition of the famous French fine dining guidebook, Michelin Guide Bangkok.

The recognition received from these respected publications reflects our commitment to enhancing the guest’s dining experience at Elements based on the spirit of “Kaizen”, a key part of the company’s Vision & Mission. Inspired by the famous Michelin two-star restaurant Ciel Bleu (translated as blue sky or blue heaven) at the Hotel Okura Amsterdam, our talented culinary team at Elements continues to work closely with Ciel Bleu’s Executive Chef Onno Kokmeijer and Chef de Cuisine Arjan Speelman, striving for excellence by sharing culinary savoir-faire, including training and menu development. In July, once again Elements will have the honour of hosting Chef Onno on one of his regular visits to Bangkok, during which he will join us for the launch of our promotional menu, Japanese Seasonal Ingredients, which is scheduled to start on 3 July 2018.

Ciel Bleu is one of Europe’s most famous dining establishments and has enjoyed the prestige rating of two Michelin stars since 2007. Chef Onno & Chef Arjan have worked at Ciel Bleu since 2003. Chef Onno has been awarded the SVH Meesterchef (master chef) title by the Dutch hospitality organisation Stichting Vakbekwaamheid Horeca. SVH aims to promote professional knowledge in the hospitality industry and awards ‘master’ titles in five categories including chef, host and sommelier. The SVH ‘master’ title is the highest honour awarded by the Dutch hospitality industry.

Elements is located on the 25th floor of The Okura Prestige Bangkok. For more information and reservations, please call 02 687 9000 or email elements@okurabangkok.com
