Infinitus China – one of China’s largest personal health care companies – is bringing 7000 of its top performers to the Gold Coast for its overseas incentive program.
Never before has the company chosen a long-haul incentive destination for a group this size. And for the first time, Infinitus has released a sneak-peek into the delegates’ itinerary.
Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk said the business event was expected to generate $40 million in economic benefit for the state.
“China is a key tourism market for the state and growing visitation is a priority for my government,” she said.
“It’s a great opportunity for Queensland to showcase its world-class experiences to thousands of Infinitus delegates who will be able to immerse themselves in the Gold Coast’s picturesque landscapes, postcard-perfect beaches and unique culture.
“Delegates will enjoy the Coast’s famous theme parks and cuddle iconic Australian animals at a wildlife sanctuary. They’ll also learn to surf as well as catch fish, crabs and yabbies.
“The event culminates with a street party in Surfers Paradise showcasing local products and entertainment.
“More than ten accommodation providers will host the 7000 delegates over 10 days.
“The Gold Coast secured the event as part of an international bidding process and my government is proud to partner with Destination Gold Coast and Tourism Australia to bring this event to the Coast.”
Building on the momentum of the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games, Tourism Industry Development Minister and Minister for the Commonwealth Games Kate Jones said the city was able to secure an additional 47 business events.
Today’s announcement comes after Ms Jones first revealed plans for the Infinitus visit from Guangzhou, China in 2016.
“We expect these events to attract more than 24,000 delegates in the coming year, with an estimated economic impact of $82 million,” she said.
“Another 16 events are still in the bidding and development stage but Destination Gold Coast expect these events could bring an extra 6500 delegates to the Gold Coast and have an estimated value of $15.7 million for the local economy.
“Hosting Infinitus and other major business events clearly demonstrate the Gold Coast as a serious contender for other large-scale international business events in the future.
“The Commonwealth Games have put the Gold Coast on the map as a world leader when it comes to hosting events.
“We see business events and conferences as a major growth area for the Coast and we’re committed to securing more of these events in the future.”
