Captain Cook 1770 Festival
In 2018, the 26th annual Captain Cook 1770 Festival will commemorate the landing of Lieutenant James Cook on 24 May, 1770 at Bustard Bay.

The award winning festival includes a foreshore re-enactment event at dusk on Friday 25 May 2018, followed by two full days of entertainment at the SES Grounds on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 May 2018.

The Saturday street parade of floats and community groups is a popular and also free family event for everyone. Gates to the SES Grounds festival site open after this parade and the whole family will be entertained by live performances, market stalls, Indigenous dancing and exciting amusement rides, with a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday night.

The festival continues on Sunday and it's only gold coin for admission, with special deals for the amusement rides. It's a wonderful day to chill and enjoy live music while you watch the popular, local Duck Race and browse the market stalls.
