The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney - in the heart of the CBD

The Adina Apartment
Hotel Sydney
I discovered The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney as the ideal place to stay on a recent visit to Sydney. I have often walked along Bathurst Street on my way to Darling Harbour, but had not noticed the Adina on the way.

The attractive ground floor lobby has several leather lounges, coffee tables and works of art. Checkin was quick and smooth by the friendly reception staff. The free hot chocolate in the lobby each afternoon was well received.

The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney offers a choice of 144 well-appointed one, two or three bedroom serviced apartments or studio rooms with either Queen, King or Twin beds available.

My Studio King featured a balcony which offered wonderful views over the city and down towards Darling Harbour. The Town Hall and Queen Victoria Building looked to be unusually small looking when I was on my balcony gazing down on their roof tops from such a high vantage point. Usually I just look upwards at at their towering historic architecture when I am walking along the nearby footpaths. They certainly do look different when seen from a different viewpoint.

The Studio was well equipped for all that I needed for a comfortable few nights stay in central Sydney.

The king sized bed was a dream to sleep on, with clean and attractive bedding. There was an abundance of pillows to choose from, so after I made my selection for the night I placed the others on the sofa chair. Bedside tables and a work desk with lamp came in useful.

The kitchenette included all the right equipment to make a quick snack, including a  microwave, toaster, kettle, bar fridge, crockery & cutlery. Tea & coffee facilities were on hand to make a cuppa.

Electronics in the Studio included an in-room safe, iPod docking station, air-conditioning, telephone with voicemail facilities, flat screen TV with radio, cable TV, and in-room movies. A limited amount of free internet is available in each room, with unlimited usage available at a small surcharge. There is also free internet in the lobby.

The bright and clean bathroom included a shower over a bath, toilet, vanity and mirror, and hair dryer. Fluffy white towels and a range of equisite TFE toiletries including shampoo, conditioner and soap were provided.

The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney facilities include a heated indoor/outdoor swimming pool, gymnasium, sauna as well as restaurant delivery and pantry service.

Dining

Leone Café & Small Bar
Leone Café & Small Bar, located on the ground floor of the hotel, offers a friendly family atmosphere and serves delicious all-day breakfast, lunch, dinner and drinks, seven days a week in a relaxed and fun environment. I enjoyed my breakfast each day in the restaurant, with different hot dishes selected each day from the menu. One day I chose the Avocado smash on toasted sourdough and the Strawberry pancakes with cream, ice-cream and maple syrup. The next day I chose the Auusie big breakfast of bacon, eggs, sausage, baked beans, roast potato, grilled tomato and mushroom served with toasted sourdough. I loved the freshly made smoothies and cappuccino coffees with each breakfast. After breakfast I ventured out of the hotel each day, so I did not have the opportunity to experience their ‘all day’ choices on the lunch and dinner menu. These feature a range of pastas, burgers, salads and specials with the freshest of ingredients, served with creativity and flair.

Location

The Adina Apartment
Hotel Sydney
The Adina Apartment Hotel Sydney is ideally situated in central Sydney. You can either drive yourself there (as on-site parking is available), take a taxi or bus, or do what I did, and take the train to Town Hall Station. To stay under cover it is just a simple matter, leaving the Station by walking along the Town Square Arcade to its exit on corner of Kent and Bathurst Streets, and the Adina Apartment Hotel is on the diagonally opposite corner.  The other way of course is to take the lift or stairs up from the Station and walk one block along Bathurst Street to the hotel.

It is not far to walk to the Queen Victoria Building, Town Hall, St Andrew's Cathedral, Woolworths, Chinatown, the Sydney's Spanish Quarter, Darling Harbour with its many restaurants and its giant screen IMAX Theatre, Hyde Park, World Square and Coles, Pitt Street Mall, Sydney Tower and the other shopping precincts.
