Darwin tourism shines with Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival

One of the Top End’s first community festivals of the Dry Season kicked off with a packed program of entertainment. The annual Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival continues to celebrate the diversity, talents and creativity of the Darwin community.

“Congratulations to the festival committee, organisers, artists, community members and volunteers involved in the 2015 Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival,” Northern Territory Arts Minister Gary Higgins said.

“The Northern Territory Government is proud to support vibrant arts community events and this year has provided $20,000 in Community Festivals funding towards the festival.
“As one of the first community festivals and arts events of the Dry Season, the Seabreeze Festival marks the start of a dynamic and diverse season of community festivals right across the Territory.

“The 2015 festival program is absolutely packed with local arts and community events. Participants from across many art forms, skill levels and ages are able share their talents alongside creative professionals for the enjoyment of our local community.”

Now in its 11th year, the Nightcliff Seabreeze Festival demonstrates strong community involvement and partnerships in all stages of the planning, development and staging of the festival.

The free community festival runs from 2-10 May with the key event ‘Big Day’ program being held on the Nightcliff Foreshore on Saturday 2 May.

The Nightcliff Seabreeze Big Day features more than ten sites along the Nightcliff foreshore that in previous years has attracted more than 15,000 festival-goers.
