In February 1954, Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, embarked on a Royal Tour of Australia. On the 11th February, the Royal couple arrived in Wollongong, where they were greeted by seemingly the entire population of the City during a succession of public events before boarding the Royal Train at Bulli to return to Sydney. Wollongong Theatres produced a short film celebrating the Royal Visit, which was subsequently shown at local picture theatres. The University of Wollongong Library acquired and digitised this film in 2014, and are now pleased to make it available in celebration of the 60th anniversary year of the Royal Visit to Wollongong.
