Hilton Sydney's Iconic Marble Bar Launches Social Media Competition To Discover Sydney's Next Live Music Band

After the great success of last year’s launch, DISCOVERED at Marble Bar is back.

Grab your guitar, pull out the drum sticks, dust off the microphone and warm up the vocal cords, Hilton Sydney’s Marble Bar is scouting to discover Sydney’s next up-and-coming live act with the return of DISCOVERED at Marble Bar.

DISCOVERED at Marble Bar is a social media driven competition where live bands and performers are encouraged to upload their demos through Marble Bar’s Facebook page in the hope of winning the coveted prize of a 2 month residency at Sydney’s iconic Marble Bar. The general public will judge the contestants and by their vote the top 5 finalists will be selected. Voting for DISCOVERED is simple – people can simply head to Marble Bar’s Facebook page and vote for their favourite performers online.

The top five acts, selected by the public's vote, will be given a once in a lifetime opportunity to battle it out live at a finale showcase to be held at Marble Bar on Wednesday 26 March 2014 in front of a team of expert judges. In addition to the panel of judges, bands will perform in front of a section of VIP industry, media and the MC of the evening. The winner will then be selected by the public’s vote in conjunction with that of our team of expert judges. The victorious act will win a two month residency playing every Wednesday night at Marble Bar from April 2014 valued at $10,000.

“Marble Bar is an iconic, intimate space that has seen some of the world’s top music acts perform on its stages, and there is no other bar like it in the city,” said Felix Busch, Hotel Manager of the Hilton Sydney. “The launch of ’DISCOVERED at Marble' is aimed at engaging with Sydney’s vibrant music community and fostering the development of the city’s dynamic music scene.”
