Parents are often looking for entertaining activities during
the school holidays that are also educational. A great opportunity to combine
these two aspects is coming up soon when the NSW Parliament House has a Family
Fun Day. Visitors - families, friends,
anyone - are welcome to come in and experience Parliament through a range of
family-friendly and fun activities. Bring your family along for something
different to do during the holidays. :
The building and grounds will be open from 10am – 3pm on Friday 7th October 2011 with
many free activities being held during the day. Some of these include:
- Taking your picture as a Future Member of Parliament
- Trying on a Wig and Gown
- Hansard, Library and Archives Displays
- Making a Mini Mace
- Exploring on a Kids' Trail Map
- Listening to Pianists
- Viewing Aboriginal Art
- Taking a Kid's Bag of Goodies
- Using your brain power on a Mystery object guessing
competition
- Spotting Roving historical characters
