In many Asian countries it is a gourmet delight to wander the streets and
laneways and dine at the many food stalls that open in the evenings. An
opportunity is coming up to do just this without the expense of an airfare to
get to Asia.
Night Noodle Markets will be set up in Hyde
Park from 5-9pm on 10-14 and 17-21 October. The authentic Asian
hawker-style markets will sell everything from noodles, dumplings, desserts and
more from dozens of food stall. There will also be three bars and nightly
entertainment including the much-loved Chinese lions.
Last year more than 125,000 people went to Hyde
Park for this unique eating experience.
New stalls this year include Longrain from Surry Hills (two
hats in The Sydney Morning Herald Good Food Guide 2012) as well as everyone's
favourite Malaysian street-food
stop, Mamak (Chinatown and Chatswood). Try
truly delicious Thai from Nu's, brilliant dumplings and buns from New Shanghai
and Din Tai Fung, and end with something sweet from dessert legends Chat Thai,
St Honore or new stallholder, Papparoti.
The Coopers sustainable beer garden is back - a lovely
space in which to relax, eat noodles and enjoy the finest Australian
ales.
The Night Noodle Markets is the major highlight of Crave
Sydney International Food Festival and has something for everyone.
