Qatar is set to become an even more dynamic destination in 2026 and 2027, with a packed calendar of sporting championships, cultural celebrations, art exhibitions, food festivals, family entertainment and outdoor adventures. Formula 1 returns to Lusail International Circuit from 27 to 29 November 2026, while the FIFA U-17 World Cup Qatar 2026 runs from 19 November to 13 December. The FIP World Cup Qatar 2026 and MotoGP Qatar Grand Prix are also scheduled for November. 

Looking ahead, major sporting events include the Doha Marathon in January 2027, Samla International in January and Ironman 70.3 Doha in March. Qatar will also host the FIBA Basketball World Cup from 27 August to 12 September 2027.

Qatar’s events programme extends well beyond sport. Art Basel Qatar has added an international contemporary art dimension to Doha’s cultural calendar, with its inaugural edition hosted at M7 and the Doha Design District.

Visitors can combine major exhibitions and cultural attractions with Doha’s museums, galleries, architecture and heritage districts, creating an itinerary that blends contemporary creativity with Qatari traditions.
