For over half a century, the Kyoto Winter Special Openings campaign has been providing visitors with rare access to Kyoto's historical and cultural landmarks. This winter, the theme revolves around two significant anniversaries: the 30th anniversary of the UNESCO World Heritage listing of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto and the 20th anniversary of the revival of the Pilgrimage of Thirty-Three Sites of Kannon Worship in Kyoto.
As part of this year’s celebrations, 15 extraordinary locations, including temples and shrines, will open their doors for the special exhibition.
