Novotel & ibis Styles Melbourne Airport officially takes off

Ribbon Cutting
Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus, Accor Pacific COO Adrian Williams and Visit Victoria CEO Brendan McClements were joined by over 120 key industry and media stakeholders for the official ribbon cutting and launch of Novotel and ibis Styles Melbourne Airport.

As the largest and most significant hotel development in Australia this year, today's launch also celebrates a significant milestone for the airport precinct as they welcomed the first new-build internationally branded hotel to open in the precinct in over 20 years.

Continuing with the 'firsts', Novotel & ibis Styles Melbourne Airport also boasts Melbourne's first airport health and wellbeing club, Higher State, home to an infrared sauna, pool, yoga studio and spa treatment room, as well as Melbourne Airport's first co-working space, known as Aerofoil Workspace.

Accor Pacific Chief Operating Officer Adrian Williams said “Our vision at Accor is clear: to redefine the concept of airport hotels and transform them into vibrant hubs that serve not just travellers, but entire communities. And as you can see, the Melbourne Airport precinct is rapidly evolving into a dynamic mini-city, and these new hotels are at the forefront of this transformation.

“Offering 464 beautiful guest rooms split between Novotel and ibis Styles, both hotels also feature a full range of facilities to cater to business, conference, and leisure guests, as well as workers and visitors to the airport district. In addition to three food and beverage outlets, function facilities for up to 330 guests, and Aerofoil Workspace, our hotel-serviced co-working space, we're providing more than just a place to sleep,” he said.

Melbourne Airport CEO Lorie Argus said: “As the Victorian gateway to the world, these new hotels enable us to meet the demand of a growing passenger base and to provide greater choice to travellers looking to spend the night here before an early flight or rest after a long trip.

“Both properties are also a fantastic addition for the 20,000 workers across the airport precinct, offering more food and beverage options, health and wellness facilities, and two floors of amazing co-working space,” she said.

Featuring all the conveniences and amenities of a city hotel within easy walking distance to the airport terminals, the dual-branded Novotel & ibis Styles Melbourne Airport offers 464 stylishly designed guest rooms split across Accor's Novotel (248 rooms) and ibis Styles (216 rooms) brands.

Guests and travellers can also enjoy access to three modern dining venues including Small Holdings for coffee and pastries, Boccata Restaurant for more substantial Italian fare and Amber State Taphouse & Kitchen, a modern gastro-pub (opening spring).

Located in the Melbourne Airport terminal precinct, Novotel & ibis Styles Melbourne Airport also provides easy access to local attractions including URBNSurf, Essendon Football Club and the Sunbury wine region.
