TOUR DETAILS

Responsible Tourism at the Aurora Village
One such place, and one of our favourite glass igloo accommodations in Lapland, is the Aurora Village, who were the first accommodation in Northern Lapland to receive the prestigious Green Key certification, the leading standard for excellence in the field of environmental responsibility and sustainable operation within the tourism industry.

Keen to put the environment first, they have introduced recycling facilities and banned plastic bottles in all cabins, and birdhouses and insect hotels have been built to support biodiversity in the area.

They encourage guests to enjoy emission-free activities such as snowshoeing and tobogganning; and hiking, fat biking and skiing are available straight from the hotel!

Nestled deep in the heartlands of local Sami populations, Aurora Village supports the wellbeing of the Sami, Europe's only indigenous population, by involving guests in their ancient traditions. During your stay you can visit a local Reindeer Farm to learn more about Sami culture, and reindeer feeding is available each morning with their own resident reindeer!
