Heuan Chan Heritage House – Luang Prabang, Lao PDR

Heuan Chan Heritage House is situated in the heart of Luang Prabang. Built-in Luang Prabang’s distinct style, this wood abode serves as a museum, and their surroundings promote the Luang Prabang Way of Life. Heuan Chan is a unique surviving example of a pre-colonial Lao style aristocratic mansion. Its core mandate is to preserve Luang Prabang’s traditional way of life and serve as a Centre where the elders pass on traditional skills and knowledge to younger generations.

As a cultural centre dedicated to preserving and promoting local traditions and customs, Heuan Chan supports the integrity of local cultures by favouring local businesses that contribute to preserving the cultural heritage and traditional values of Lao and Luang Prabang. The business also supports the local economy through the purchase of local goods from small businesses.

The heart of Heuan Chan is a century-old traditional Lao house situated in the heart of Luang Prabang. Built-in Luang Prabang’s distinct style, this wood abode serves as a museum and their surroundings promote the Luang Prabang Way of Life. Visitor can enjoy exclusive tours about Luang Prabang way of life, restaurant and bar. workshops, participate in Baci ceremonies, rent traditional costumes, visit the museum or shop authentic handicraft.
