Tourism Authority of Thailand Launches #HugThailandTakeover Social Media Campaign

The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) Sydney Office launches a new social media campaign, called #HugThailandTakeover across the Oceania region, inviting travel partners such as TAT local offices, travel influencers, local tour guides, and tour companies to take over our social media channels including Facebook, Instagram, and tiktok for a certain period of time.

The campaign aims to increase brand awareness and to promote Thailand as a 'Top of Mind' destination for Australians and New Zealanders and will commence with the TAT local office as a takeover host on Saturday 10 October 2020. Every partner will provide inspiration to the audience by sharing their personal insights of Thailand, showcasing Thailand's beautiful landscapes and must-visit attractions as well as providing useful information for visitors.

Ms. Suladda Sarutilavan, Director of TAT Sydney Office said, “In an effort to inspire people and keep Thailand top of mind for Australians and New Zealanders while we can't travel abroad, we are collaborating with our travel partners to exclusively share interesting stories about Thailand with our audience via our social media channels. This campaign will provide insightful information from our trusted partners to help potential visitors prepare their own itinerary for a future holiday in Thailand. This is a great way to provide travel inspiration for Australians and New Zealanders, post COVID-19 pandemic.”

In Thailand, it's back to business as usual, with offices and companies are now open. For various locations and public venues, the government has put in place safety procedures and preventive measures in the new normal era.

“Thailand is now reopening the country by allowing long-staying visitors from countries with lower COVID-19 infection rates, as advised by the Ministry of Public Health, to enter to Thailand. Visitors currently still have to quarantine in a state-approved facility for 14 days on arrival. The visa will be valid for a 90-day visit and can be extended twice, to a maximum of nine months.”

The scheme is part of the plans to revive the country's tourism industry while maintaining effective COVID-19 control and prevention measures. TAT will continue to promote Thailand as a preferred destination across the Oceania Region and looks forward to welcoming Australians and New Zealanders back to Thailand soon.
