Queensland's Easter egg hunt to win a GoPro was amongst the top WeChat posts for tourism brands for the week of 4-10 April 2020 according to WeChat weekly rankings. WeChat is a Chinese multi-purpose messaging, social media and mobile payment app with over one billion monthly active users.
Virtual Queensland road trip
As people in Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France and Italy remain in lockdown or with restrictions due to COVID-19, TEQ launched a virtual road trip through Queensland via Facebook to generate positive content and inspire holiday planning for when it’s safe to travel again. More than 56,000 users engaged with 31 daily posts featuring a variety of Queensland experiences, from our islands and beaches, Indigenous experiences and the Great Barrier Reef to sailing adventures, amazing national parks and scenic Outback landscapes. The posts achieved an organic (non-paid) reach of more than 430,000 and have been supported by a digital advertising awareness campaign in-market.
