Mekong Tourism Newsletter - Happy New Year

We are wishing you a Happy New Year/Choul Chnam Thmey/Pii Mai/Thingyan/Songkran/Dai New Year and looking ahead to jointly working on recovery strategies for a post-COVID-19 tourism recovery.

In challenging times, it is reassuring to have traditions, such as our regional new year festivities. Even though we might not be able to celebrate it as we are used to with friends and family members, they are all in our minds and we look forward to being able to meet with them again in the future. Tourism is about welcoming guests to your homes and being proud to share one's culture and heritage, cuisine and delicacies, communities and environments.

The Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office is going to launch a number of initiatives that will help to collaboratively recover and enhance sustainable tourism development in our region post COVID-19. Please follow our news to get frequent updates and be able to participate and benefit from the initiatives.

In the meanwhile, you can stay updated on current developments through our dedicated CORONA Virus Resource Page and information about our current programs by downloading our booklet at http://bit.ly/MekongTourism2020 and visiting www.MekongTourism.org.

With this, I wish you a good week. Please stay healthy and take care of your family and employees.

#StayAtHome today so we can #TravelTomorrow.

Kind regards,
Jens Thraenhart, Executive Director
Mekong Tourism Coordinating Office (MTCO)
