These Canberra family friendly experience offer up something parents will love – a mix of education for the parents and fun for the kids, with plenty of photo opportunities along the way.

DressUP – Museum of Australian Democracy
Are you more Frida Kahlo or Dr Karl? Discover the incredible journeys of some of the world's most inspiring people, taking the time to walk in their shoes in DressUP: Change the World at the Museum of Australian Democracy at Old Parliament House. Connect with the lives of historical and contemporary figures, including Adam Goodes, Beyoncé, and many others, by dressing up in their most iconic outfits. After being inspired, head to the Zine Lounge to write and sketch your own thoughts out in a zine to take home. This engaging exhibition space provides a bold and quirky environment that will inspire young people and asks them “How will you change the world?”

See the Moon up close and personal at Questacon. Created as an oasis of calm in a sea of boundless enthusiasm, their newest gallery lets you recline and take in all the details of the giant glowing moon. Moon gaze from every angle - you can even visit the far side. You will be mesmerised by detailed NASA imagery of the lunar surface. Find your favourite crater (there are over 30,000!) or where the Apollo missions landed.

Wildfest Pop Up Wilderness Family Camp – Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve
Experience Canberra's premier wildlife sanctuary like never before with the ultimate family sleepover - A Wild Night Out at Tidbinbilla. Explore this 54.5 square kilometre Nature Reserve with specially designed ranger guided activities in “The life of a ranger”. Learn about fire, wildlife management, conservation and land management and an understanding the culture of the Ngunnawal people and experience the history of European settlement in the valley. Take a botanical journey across Australia from the coastal rainforests to the red centre. Get a rosellas-eye view from the Paperbark Treehouse (which was constructed in part using timber from the set of Baz Luhrmann's movie Australia)and discover the importance of biodiversity on the 'Who Did That?' children's trail. Have a picnic under the eucalyptus or enjoy lunch with a view at the award-winning Pollen café.
